One of the most highly anticipated annual golf tournaments in the Northern Mariana Islands is set to tee-off on June 20, as the 14th Annual HANMI Charity Golf Classic Tournament prepares to offer golfers the chance to win enticing prizes while supporting a good cause.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s tournament will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort east course and will be open to the first 144 paid registrants. Cash and numerous in-kind prizes await the winners, and proceeds of the tournament will be contributed to community charities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe encourage all golfers to mark their calendars for the 14th HANMI Charity Golf Classic Tournament on June 20,\u201d said Tournament Chairman Das Krishnan. \u201cLast year we had a sell-out crowd, and we are aiming for the same this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Registration forms will be available shortly on the HANMI website at www.saipanhotels.org, and at Mariana Country Club, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, and LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.<\/p>\n
Early bird tournament fee is $110 for payments received by 3pm, June 18. The fee includes green fee and the awards banquet. The fee increases to $130 after the early bird deadline. For an additional $30, players may also compete for nearest to the pin, most accurate drive, and most accurate drive circle hole. The tournament will start at 7am.<\/p>\n
The tournament features two categories: Championship and Blackjack Double Peoria.<\/p>\n
\u201cBlackjack Double Peoria is an excellent format for helping to make the tournament more fair,\u201d said Krishnan. \u201cWith this format, everyone has a chance to win some of our great prizes.\u201d<\/p>\n
First place winners of the Championship Flight will receive $500, a trophy, and a hotel stay at one of the HANMI member hotels. Second place finishers will receive $300 and one-night stay gift certificate from one HANMI\u2019s member hotels, and third place winners will receive $200 and one-night stay gift certificate from one HANMI\u2019s member hotels.<\/p>\n
In the Blackjack Double Peoria category, winners from 1st to 5th place will each receive $500, winners from 6th to 10th place will each receive $300, and winners from 11th to 15th place will each receive $200. Category winners will also each receive a hotel room night stay.<\/p>\n
Five consolations prizes of $100 each and five consolation prizes of lunch gift certificates will also be awarded.
