{"id":201225,"date":"2015-05-11T04:00:22","date_gmt":"2015-05-10T18:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=201225"},"modified":"2015-05-11T04:00:22","modified_gmt":"2015-05-10T18:00:22","slug":"delayed-sshs-windmill-project-an-eyesore-sablan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/delayed-sshs-windmill-project-an-eyesore-sablan\/","title":{"rendered":"Delayed SSHS windmill project an \u2018eyesore\u2019\u2014Sablan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Education Commissioner Dr. Rita Sablan reiterates the call to get a stalled turbine project off Public School System property.<\/p>\n<p>The dysfunctional windmills at Saipan Southern High School are an \u201ceyesore\u201d and create noise that generates \u201ca lot of complaints from the community around it,\u201d according to Board of Education chair Herman Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan said the project was originally a $10-million renewable energy project for public schools.<\/p>\n<p>While other projects have gone forward, the project at Saipan Southern High appears to be the \u201conly defective one,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey built on our property because we endorsed non-renewable energy,\u201d she told Saipan Tribune. \u201cIf they install something that doesn\u2019t work\u201d then they should \u201cget if off our property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company working on the project had missed the March 31, 2015, deadline.
