(MVA)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The 17th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival &amp; Beer Garden will feature its first-ever magic and yo-yo show in the back stage this Saturday, May 16, starting at 8pm.<\/p>\n<p>The event brings some of the best of island cuisine and entertainment to American Memorial Park every Saturday evening beginning at 6pm in May as part of the monthlong celebration of Tourism Month in the Northern Mariana Islands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith five Saturdays this year, we decided to bring in something new and exciting with a magic show featuring Joel \u201cPrinze\u201d Salvosa and a yo-yo exhibition by Julius Rey D. Barro in week three,\u201d said Marianas Visitors Authority Community Projects manager Martin Duenas.<\/p>\n<p>The MVA, the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the National Park Service jointly host the annual event.<\/p>\n<p>Revelers joined two heats of the Pie Eating Competition last Saturday, May 9, with repeat winners from the Hotdog Eating Competition on May 2 also placing in Saturday\u2019s adult heat.\u00a0 Simon Necesito, second place finisher in the Hotdog Eating Competition, polished off his Herman\u2019s Modern Bakery sweet potato pie first on Saturday.\u00a0 Raymond Emul, who finished third the previous week, took second place in the Pie Eating Competition, while John Lewis finished third.<\/p>\n<p>In the youth division, Eric Enriquez finished first, followed by Joel Fruit in second place, and Conall Hartig rounding out the winners in third place.
