{"id":201504,"date":"2015-05-13T04:00:06","date_gmt":"2015-05-12T18:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=201504"},"modified":"2015-05-13T04:00:06","modified_gmt":"2015-05-12T18:00:06","slug":"thursday-tuesday-leaders-not-safe-on-top","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/thursday-tuesday-leaders-not-safe-on-top\/","title":{"rendered":"Thursday, Tuesday leaders not safe on top"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A catch-me-if-you-can scenario remains in the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association Open 8-Ball Thursday and Tuesday leagues as Wild Bill\u2019s and the Jokers IT&#038;E Voyagers could still dislodge the leaders of their respective divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Wild Bill\u2019s has four more weeks, including tomorrow\u2019s games, to make its move of foiling current leaders Route 33 Alamo Car Rental\u2019s title bid while the Voyagers (119-91) must rack up more wins and hope that the Smoke Pub Armatech Hustlers (122-88) would start losing as both leagues enter the homestretch.<\/p>\n<p>Route 33 remains on top in the Thursday League with a 126-84 won-loss record followed closely behind by Wild Bill\u2019s\u2019 118-92 mark, while the Abyss Rack \u2018N\u2019 Roll and the Jokers Homeboyz are tied from third to fourth (114-96).<\/p>\n<p>The Smoke Pub Magic 8-Ball (112-98) remain a long shot for the division crown since they are 14 games behind leaders Route 33, but could still contend for a podium finish depending on the outcome of their and opponents\u2019 games.<\/p>\n<p>The Magic 8-Ball failed to gain some ground last week despite a 13-2 win over the Barcode Breakers (64-146), while Route 33 continued to hold the top spot following a 10-5 victory against the Barcode Hobbies Deadshot (100-110).<\/p>\n<p>Wild Bill\u2019s could have closed the gap further with Route 33, but was held to an 8-7 decision by Jokers Hombeoyz, while the Jokers Wonderpool Aces (106-104) and the Abyss Titans (108-102) had the same scoreline against Jonny\u2019s Teams SCS (88-122) and the Rack \u2018N\u2019 Roll.<\/p>\n<p>It was an unusual result in the Tuesday league as all three matches played ended up with a 10-5 result.<\/p>\n<p>The Hustlers, who are just three games ahead of the Voyagers, defeated their closest pursuers while the Jokers STR8 Shooters (100-110) beat the cellar-dwelling Abyss Homeboyz II (81-129) and the Abyss Crazy 8 (107-103) downed the Smoke Pub Ali\u2019i Destroyers.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday League games between the STR8 Shooters and the Destroyers, the Hustlers and the Homeboyz II, and the Crazy 8 and the Voyagers were still being played at press time.<\/p>\n<p>In the Thursday League, the Titans visit the Breakers while the Wonderpool Aces host the Magic 8-Ball.
