The Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council is working with the Northern Marianas Technical Institute and the CNMI Women\u2019s Association to help unemployed Saipan residents get jobs.<\/p>\n
Municipal council chair Antonia M. Tudela told Saipan Tribune that their efforts primarily focus on those who are finding it hard to land jobs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have this program with our partnering agencies that will improve those that have trouble seeking employment. We want to let them know that there are jobs that are available and that employment shouldn\u2019t be an issue,\u201d Tudela said.<\/p>\n
She said the CNMI Women\u2019s Association is also working with Saipan casino licensee Best Sunshine International, Ltd. in finding the people it needs for the live-training facility it will open at the T Galleria in Garapan.<\/p>\n
BSI wants to hire 500 personnel and the CNMI Women\u2019s Association is working with the company to find suitable candidates for these positions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lot of people on the island. I can\u2019t give the numbers yet but we are consistent. The reason why we\u2019re doing this is for the betterment of those who are unemployed because it is sad if the only income they have is small and they have a family, home, and bills to take care of,\u201d Tudela said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are looking for 16 years old and up and Saipan council vice chair Alice Igitol and secretary Lareina Camacho are working tirelessly to find those who need jobs. So we are really working hard and aggressively looking for people with no employment. We need them to be aware of these opportunities,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
NMTI will be providing some training, while the CNMI Women\u2019s Association is assisting in helping these individuals prepare for job interviews, among others, according to Tudela.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
