{"id":201687,"date":"2015-05-14T04:00:27","date_gmt":"2015-05-13T18:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=201687"},"modified":"2015-05-14T04:00:27","modified_gmt":"2015-05-13T18:00:27","slug":"cuc-irp-plan-down-to-five-bidders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cuc-irp-plan-down-to-five-bidders\/","title":{"rendered":"CUC IRP plan down to five bidders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is down to five qualified bids for an \u201cIntegrated Resource Plan,\u201d or a comprehensive energy plan for the utility in the years to come.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Janacek, of Leidos Engineering LLC, updated the CUC board on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said Leidos, the third party reviewing the bids, received nine \u201cwell-developed\u201d proposals in February.<\/p>\n<p>Five of those bids turned out to qualified, he said. The unqualified bids did not contain required information, he said.<\/p>\n<p>For the review of these bids, he said, costs will not be considered.<\/p>\n<p>They will be reviewing these bids on a \u201ctechnical\u201d level and will not be \u201cburied by economics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the IRP is a plan stretching up to 25 years.
