\"The\u00a0 The 12th Tinian Turquoise Blue Triathlon and Reef Swim will be staged in the blue waters and under the blue skies of Tinian on June 2.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Triathlon Magazine and returning champion Hidea Miyazuka, along with over 30 other competitors, are expected on the island of Tinian, renowned throughout the region for its quiet natural beauty, pre-historic latte stone monoliths, and fiery hot peppers.<\/p>\n

The triathlon will feature two course: the A-type course is a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-km bike, and 10-km run.<\/p>\n

The longer B-type course is a 2-km swim, 90-km bike, and 21-km run. The reef swim will offer three courses-1.5 km, 3 km, and 4.5 km.<\/p>\n

“One of the real beauties of the Tinian Turquoise Blue Triathlon and Reef Swim is that there is no time limit, so everyone who comes can have the satisfaction of completing the race without being disqualified because of time,” said Marianas Visitors Authority Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. “We\u2019re very excited about this year\u2019s event.”<\/p>\n

The event is co-sponsored by the MVA, Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office, and Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino.<\/p>\n

Registration costs are: $80 for solo triathletes, $60\/each for triathlon teams of two or three members, and $60 for reef swim only (all distances). Registration fee includes the awards party on event day, T-shirt, and swim cap. Registration will be held at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino poolside on June 1 from 5pm to 7pm, with the mandatory pre-race briefing from 6pm to 7pm at the same venue. Cash payment only.<\/p>\n
