<\/a>\nEach contestant taught two man\u2019amko partners on how to walk like a model and how to carry themselves. The ladies also gave a sampling of their introduction number for the big night on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The man\u2019amko also had a chance to show off their dancing moves.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey [candidates] had a lot of fun, they learned from the man\u2019amko and the [man\u2019amko\u2019s] talent and performance definitely inspired the girls,\u201d Stellar Marianas president Laila Boyer said.<\/p>\n
This was the first time for Miss Marianas candidates to visit the elderly at the center. After the short program, they gave away gift packages of Dove and other Unilever products.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is great, especially because I use these products as well,\u201d said Aging Center client Virgie Mallari.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to send a big thank you to Dickerson & Quinn International and Dove for giving us this opportunity to share the products,\u201d Boyer said.<\/p>\n
For D&Q, it was not just about sharing their products but also to give the Miss Marianas contestants a novel experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the first time for D&Q to sponsor an event like this for Dove and to promote awareness for everybody and the man\u2019amko and what they do here,\u201d said Jaki Fujihira, sales and marketing support for D&Q.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe beauty of the man\u2019amko is that they have knowledge to share and we wanted to have the Miss Marianas come over and witness that. Because they\u2019re very young and it\u2019s best that they come over and interact with the man\u2019amko,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The Saipan Senior Advisory Council was also pleased by the girls\u2019 visit.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the man\u2019amko and the SSAC, we would like to say si yu’us ma’ase [thank you] that you shared your talent and your beauty and your love for us,\u201d said SSAC vice president Teresita Sorroza.<\/p>\n
