{"id":202270,"date":"2015-05-22T06:00:12","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T20:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=202270"},"modified":"2015-05-22T06:00:12","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T20:00:12","slug":"walk-in-our-shoes-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/walk-in-our-shoes-today\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Walk in Our Shoes\u2019 today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Division of Public Health is inviting the public to take part in its \u201cWalk in Our Shoes\u201d event, a three-mile walk from the Garapan Fishing Base that will have men joining to experience what it&#8217;s like to be pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>The walk will take place from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and will have men participating in the walk with a 25-lb sack of rice on their bellies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease join us and cheer on the men who willingly carry a 25-lb sack of rice,\u201d said TaAnn T. Kabua of CHCC-DPH Maternal and Child Health Bureau. \u201cThe first five participants to cross the finish line will receive cash prizes. Other participants will be receiving gift certificates and other incentives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay is also Karidat Services Month and we are hosting a food drive for the only women&#8217;s shelter in the CNMI. If you would like to donate non-perishable food items, please drop them off [at designated sites] at CHCC,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Other events lined up include a Cooking Demo to feature three CNMI restaurants that serve healthy meals.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, May 26, CHCC will provide health services to incarcerated women at the Department of Corrections.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ZUMBA Party scheduled for May 28\u00a0at Garapan Central Park will wrap up the month. The CHCC Employee Association will host dinner. Health screenings will begin at 4:30pm, followed by the ZUMBA exercise\u00a0from 6pm to 7pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe real celebration will be\u00a0from 7pm to 10pm.
