{"id":202303,"date":"2015-05-22T06:00:18","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T20:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=202303"},"modified":"2015-05-22T06:00:18","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T20:00:18","slug":"sba-holds-may-masters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/sba-holds-may-masters\/","title":{"rendered":"SBA holds May Masters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saipan Bowling Association will hold the 33rd CNMI May Masters Bowling Tournament this weekend at the Saipan Bowling Center.<\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s competition will start with a registration at 1:30pm. Up next is the three-game qualifier for singles event at 2pm, followed by the three-game doubles contest at 4:15. The 6:30pm slot is for the team event, while extra games for the three events will be played beginning at 9:15pm.<\/p>\n<p>The same order of events will be implemented this Saturday, but start time will be earlier at 9:15am for singles, 11:30am for doubles, and 2pm for team. Once the qualifying games are completed, SBA will have the Women\u2019s Masters in the evening. Interested players have only until May 23, 5pm to register and the competition will only push through if 12 bowlers sign up.<\/p>\n<p>The Men\u2019s Masters, on the other hand, will be held this Sunday, starting at 9am.  Both competitions will feature 12 games and the player (in each division) with the highest pinfalls will be declared the winner.<\/p>\n<p>Registration fees for the various events are as follows: $30 for men\u2019s singles, doubles\/team events and $25 for women\u2019s; $10 All Events (men\u2019s and women\u2019s); $50 for Men\u2019s Masters; and $40 for Women\u2019s Masters.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Castro and Lori Terre are the defending Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Masters champions. Castro also took the doubles event win with Robert Talavera, who topped the All Events, while Raul Dimapit ruled the singles.
