{"id":202351,"date":"2015-05-21T22:53:05","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T12:53:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=202351"},"modified":"2015-05-21T22:53:05","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T12:53:05","slug":"all-schools-resume-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/all-schools-resume-today\/","title":{"rendered":"All-Schools resume today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Public School System\/McDonald\u2019s All-Schools Athletics Championship resume its finals starting today after being cancelled last week due to Tropical Storm Dolphin passing through the Marianas.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s events will be held at the Oleai Sports Complex with the championship moving to the Hopwood Junior High School grounds on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Close to 400 kids in the boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 Under-8, U10, U12, U14, and U18 divisions will be competing in various running and field events where the top three finishers to be awarded medals.<\/p>\n<p>Koblerville Elementary School\u2019s Isaiah Aleksenko and Beck Walter are favored to win in their respective events with the former topping the qualifiers in the boys U8 200 meter, 400m, 800m, and 1,500m runs.<\/p>\n<p>Walter had the fastest times in the U8 girls\u2019 60m and 100m runs, while fourth in the 200m and 400m runs.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys\u2019 U10 division, Oleai Elementary School\u2019s Devin Igisomar and Jonathan Wolf are expected to contend for a podium finish in the sprint events (60m, 100m, and 200m), while Dylan Mister is heavily favored in middle distance (400m, 800m, and 1,500m).<\/p>\n<p>Madelein Sablan and Josephine Villagomez will try to lead Koblerville\u2019s charge in the girls U10 division. Sablan is entered in the 60m, 100m, and 200m runs, while Villagomez will try her luck in the 400m, 800m, and 1,500m events.<\/p>\n<p>Others to watch out for are Oleai\u2019s Marty Taisacan and Raven Francicso (boys\u2019 U12), and Aiko Rasiang and Nichko Rasiang (girls\u2019 U12), and Rintaro Miyawaki (boys U12) of Saipan International School; Dandan Middle School\u2019s Sean Delgado and Hopwood Junior High\u2019s Noel Cabrera and Neldrey Skerei, San Antonio Middle School\u2019s Tarrence Babauta, and Ken Song of Saipan Community School (boys\u2019 U14); Hopwood\u2019 Jessme Jones and Chevy Alipio, SAMS\u2019 Tyvieann They, and Agape Christian School\u2019s Annie Wang.<\/p>\n<p>Marianas High School\u2019s Donavin Ada, Jerald Castillo, and Evan Miller (boys\u2019 U18), and Zarinae Sapong (girls\u2019 U18) are hoping to that their experience in the recently concluded Oceania Athletics Association Championship are enough to help them clinch a podium finish.<\/p>\n<p>Ada won the bronze in boys\u2019 shotput in Cairns, Australia; while Castillo, Miller, and Sapong recorded personal bests in their respective events.<\/p>\n<p>Gabrielle Race and Friendly Joy Pena are also expected to deliver for MHS.<\/p>\n<p>Tinian has sent Covey Mendiola, Moses Reyes, Daniel Alvares (boys\u2019 U8), Allayna Sablan (girls\u2019 U8); Collin Dela Cruz, Dallace Crawford, Nino Pascua, and Saim Ali (boys\u2019 U10, Mikyla Cunanan, Guillermina San Nicolas, and Pritzel Carreon (girls\u2019 U10); Chit Accolador (boys\u2019 U12) and Cheralaine Epity (girls\u2019 U12); Joshua Hofschneider (boys\u2019 U14); and Elton Hofschneider, Michael Cabulay, Jayron Epity, Peter Anore, Elvin Borja, Michael Naputi, and Zachariah Hofschneider (boys\u2019 U18).<\/p>\n<p>Organizers of the annual All-Schools event would like to thank PSS and McDonald\u2019s Saipan, and statisticians Sylvan and Meng Rangamar for painstakingly finalizing the meet rosters and events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Public School System\/McDonald\u2019s All-Schools Athletics Championship resume its finals starting today after being cancelled&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":48,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[4716,4717,4718,4719],"class_list":["post-202351","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sports","tag-allayna-sablan","tag-covey-mendiola","tag-daniel-alvares","tag-moses-reyes"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/202351","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/48"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=202351"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/202351\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=202351"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=202351"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=202351"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
