{"id":202502,"date":"2015-05-25T06:00:38","date_gmt":"2015-05-24T20:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=202502"},"modified":"2015-05-25T06:00:38","modified_gmt":"2015-05-24T20:00:38","slug":"military-training-at-fdm-warning-area-517-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/military-training-at-fdm-warning-area-517-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:<\/p>\n<p>-May 25, from 6pm to 11:55pm<\/p>\n<p>-May 26, from 10am to 11:55pm<\/p>\n<p>-May 27-31, from midnight to 4am and 10am to 11:55pm<\/p>\n<p>The Navy will also conduct training at Warning Area 517 on May 26-27, from noon to 8pm<\/p>\n<p>The general public\u2014especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators\u2014are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated.<\/p>\n<p>The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants.<\/p>\n<p>W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. For this training, W-517 is activated south of latitude 12\u00b0 40\u2019 00&#8243;N. All vessels are advised to remain clear of W-517 south of latitude 12\u00b0 40\u2019 00&#8243;N.
