Police arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly bullying and beating up a minor after the minor refused to fight with him and his companion in San Antonio on Monday night.<\/p>\n
Michael Kazuo Lagahin Ito was arrested for disturbing the peace and assault and battery. His bail was initially set at $1,500 cash but he was later allowed to post $150 cash and $1,350 in unsecured bond.<\/p>\n
Police detective Jason T. Tarkong stated in his report that three police officers were dispatched to San Antonio in response to a disturbance near the village\u2019s Manhoben Youth Center.<\/p>\n
Tarkong said the officers met with the victim, a 17-year-old Korean male, who had blood stains on his white T-shirt and on his dark-colored pants. The victim was bleeding from a laceration on the left side of his upper lip that was about an inch and a half long. The alleged victim received nine stitches on his lips and was released from the Commonwealth Health Center after treatment.<\/p>\n
Police officer Ralph Rangamar learned from the victim that Ito punched and kicked him several times. The victim claimed that Ito is a known bully at school and in the village.<\/p>\n
Tarkong learned that the victim and an 18-year-old friend were playing basketball at the Manhoben Youth Center when Ito, who was with a minor, approached them and challenged the victim to fight his companion.<\/p>\n
When the victim refused, Ito allegedly kicked him on the left side of the rib and punched him twice in the face, causing his lips to bleed.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s friend ran and Ito chased him. Ito\u2019s companion then allegedly continued to assault the victim several times by punching his legs and arms.<\/p>\n
After being arrested, Ito allegedly confessed to police officers Rudy Sablan and Joe Magofna that he punched and kicked the victim.<\/p>\n
Ito\u2019s preliminary hearing is on June 3 and he is ordered to appear in court on June 8.<\/p>\n
