A 22-year-old man who was stopped along Martinez Road in As Lito for a traffic offense was allegedly found in possession of three baggies that contained methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
Walter Arellano Florencio Jr. was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and trafficking of a controlled substance. His bail was set Friday at $50,000 cash. Preliminary hearing will be on June 2 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for Florencio.<\/p>\n
Police detective Rudolfo Saures Hermosilla Jr. stated in his report that police officer David Hosono was doing a periodic check on Tun Joaquin Doi Road in Finasisu and was about to turn toward Martinez Road in As Lito when he saw a tinted Toyota car in front of his vehicle with no safety sticker for 2015 on the rear license plate.<\/p>\n
Hosono activated his emergency light and siren to do a violator stop on the car. The officer pulled over the car on the shoulder of the road near Matty\u2019s Barbecue.<\/p>\n
The officer noted that Florencio\u2019s passengers\u2014his girlfriend and her baby\u2014were not wearing safety belts.<\/p>\n
Florencio apologized to the officer, saying it was a rental car and that he does not have with him his driver\u2019s license and vehicle registration.<\/p>\n
The officer then observed cigarette wrappers and a cutoff straw that appeared to be tools used to smoke \u201cice.\u201d<\/p>\n
After Hosono advised Florencio to step out of the car, the officer saw a plastic Game Boy container underneath the driver\u2019s seat floor. The officer saw three baggies from the container containing crystalline substance that, when later tested, was presumptive positive for meth. The \u201cice\u201d weighed 0.6 gross grams.<\/p>\n
The car was released to Florencio\u2019s girlfriend, who told police that she was surprised because she has no knowledge of her boyfriend\u2019s drug activity.<\/p>\n
Florencio allegedly told police that his girlfriend is unaware of his drug activity. He disclosed that he purchased the \u201cice\u201d from a source for $20 at Smile Poker in Chalan Kanoa Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Florencio said he separated 0.1 gross grams into three separate baggies and that he was going to sell the three baggies for $20 each. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
