Hocog (Ind-Rota) has initiated the delivery of relief goods to Rota on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hocog, the relief operations will continue until Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Hocog said along with other donors, help is also coming from Best Sunshine International, Ltd. and Cape Air.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hocog, Cape Air has been tapped to deliver several hundred sacks of rice for Rota, which has suffered significant damage after being hit by Typhoon Dolphin.<\/p>\n<p>The full extent of the damage is still unknown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing relief efforts and mobilizing our staff to see what else is needed by the community,\u201d Hocog said, adding that the state of emergency for Rota has not been lifted yet.<\/p>\n<p>The administration of Gov. Eloy S. Inos earlier released a statement saying it expects to issue a joint notice any time soon on the state of emergency declared for Rota last May 20.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMajor efforts were made by the community of Rota to return to normalcy along with many of our responders, non-profit organization, the Rota Mayor\u2019s Office, federal partners and the administration,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working with the mayor of Rota in ensuring all aspects for restoration have been resolved, and we anticipate lifting the state of emergency within the next couple of days. A joint notice will be issued soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Legislature on Friday initiated a \u201ccoin drive\u201d for Rota.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Joseph Deleon Guerrero (Ind-Saipan) led other lawmakers lining up on a portion of Beach Road, buckets on hand, to solicit donations from passing motorists.<\/p>\n<p>According to Deleon Guerrero, the donation drive is part of ongoing efforts to help Rota, which is still reeling from the effects of the typhoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senate President Victor C.
