Keith Longuski and 13-year-old Ken Song were the fastest runners in last Saturday\u2019s 5K Run For Nepal fundraising event.<\/p>\n

Proceeds of the fundraising drive, which started and ended at the Garapan Fishing Base right beside the Garapan Public Market, would be donated to the victims of the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25.<\/p>\n

Longuski bested close to 150 runners that participated in the event, organized by the Saipan\u2019s Nepalese community in partnership with the Saipan Young Professionals.<\/p>\n

The Commonwealth Health Center physician assistant, who has topped various running events on Saipan, finished the course in just 22 minutes to top the senior division (over 10 years old),<\/p>\n

Jack Stewart reached the finish line three minutes behind Longuski at 25 minutes, while Alex Johanson was a close third at 27 minutes.<\/p>\n

Song, on the other hand, ruled the Under-11 age group as he crossed the finish line in 28 minutes followed by Joshua Abragan (30 minutes), while Sam Ryu placed third (32 minutes). Rex Pixley was fourth.<\/p>\n

The final time of each finisher in the race was based after the 6:54am start time of all those who participated in the 5K race.<\/p>\n

Organizers of the fundraising event said that more than 300 registered but chose not to run and instead donated the $10 registration fee as their gesture to help the in the relief drive in Nepal.<\/p>\n

Tan Holdings president Jerry Tan and Philippine Honorary Consul Eli Arago were among those who joined the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
