Kagman High School says an unidentified impostor solicited and received a donation for the school\u2019s graduation while posing as a school counselor last Friday.<\/p>\n
KHS acting principal Leila Staffler warned businesses to be wary of possible fraud.<\/p>\n
In an announcement to media, Staffler said that on Friday a business partner that the high school works with on a regular basis called to verify if they had received \u201cthe solicited donation for graduation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Staffler said they were informed that someone posing as one of their counselors was soliciting for graduation in the form of cash donations.<\/p>\n
The impostor did not leave any contact information and said they would be the one to call for a follow up, Staffler said.<\/p>\n
The impostor then called to inform the business that a student would pick up the donation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe person who picked up the donation was a male, short in stature, wearing a hat and shades in his early 20s with a small mustache,\u201d the principal said.<\/p>\n
Staffler would like the public to know that:<\/p>\n
Kagman High School never asks for cash donations.<\/p>\n
KHS would never send a student to pick up solicitation.<\/p>\n
KHS always leaves a contact number.<\/p>\n
Staffler urges the public to be wary of possible fraud, to call the school to confirm requests if you are suspicious at 237-3849, and to report to the police if you have been a victim of fraud.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
