A Saipan International School student\u2019s healthy lunch recipe has won her a White House dinner with first lady Michelle Obama.<\/p>\n

Third-grader Claire Park won the state \u201cHealth Lunchtime Challenge\u201d competition. Her teacher, Kathy Ruszala, was notified of Choi\u2019s free trip to the White House on Tuesday morning.

\u201cI made a Rota sweet potato salad with chicken breast,\u201d Choi told Saipan Tribune. \u201cEven my dad tried it and my baby sister tried it, and my mom.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got it from a supermarket. My mom helped me come up\u201d with the recipe,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

When asked why eating healthy was important, she said, \u201cYour body will be healthier and you could be not lazy. Because if you are healthy, you can grow better and it\u2019s good for your body.\u201d<\/p>\n

What do people need to be healthy? \u201cThey need to eat healthy food and exercise,\u201d Choi, whose favorite sports are soccer and tennis, said.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Choi has won a trip to Obama\u2019s and the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s 4th Annual Health Lunchtime Challenge and Kids\u2019 \u201cState Dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with 54 other students, Choi has won a July 9 trip to the White House on June 10. The paid-for ticket is round-trip and includes a one-night stay at the Westin Georgetown.<\/p>\n

Obama, through the competition, asked students 8 to 12 to create lunch recipes that followed \u201cMyPlate\u201d nutrition guidelines, meaning that fruits and vegetables make up half of the recipe. The dish should also include whole grains, lean protein and low-fat dairy.<\/p>\n
