People are still parking, getting out of their cars,” JKPL technical service librarian Rosalyn Ajoste said.

According to Ajoste, they are partnering with Green Flash to further promote comics.

“The reason we’re doing this is to promote comics as an art form because it engages readers in a way that no other art form does,” she said.

“Comics also enrich people’s lives and they appeal to those who are more [visually-oriented],” she added.

According to Keaton, he didn’t expect the turnout to include a notable number of adults and females.

“There were more adults than I expected, there were more girls than I expected,” he said.

He added that for next year, he will make sure to consider adults and females when he orders comics for FCBD.

Aside from the free comics, there was also a book sale as well as other fun activities for younger kids such as face painting and reading. Registration for the library’s summer program was also opened that day.

[4
5375,4839,163,67
post-204166","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-fcbd","tag-glenn-keaton","tag-kids","tag-people
["GET
