Let\u203as get familiar with some known terms that have natural psychoactive ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Ayahuasca brew (popular in Peru)<\/p>\n<p>Betel nut Areca catechu (Carolinian friends chew)<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis (the MJ of our familiar)<\/p>\n<p>Coca (Georgia\u2019s Cola used to use)<\/p>\n<p>Datura (the poisonous moonflowers)<\/p>\n<p>Ephedra (Chinese traditional medicine\u2019s ma huang, aka \u201cMormon\u201d and \u201cIndian\u201d tea)<\/p>\n<p>Kava (the intoxicating pepper of Polynesia)<\/p>\n<p>Khat (an amphetamine like chewed stimulant in the Middle East)<\/p>\n<p>Mescaline (natural hallucinogenic similar to LSD effect en Mejico)<\/p>\n<p>Morning glory (with hallucinogenic properties, kin to the kangkong)<\/p>\n<p>Nutmeg (and you wondered why the Moluccas was so popular to Europe)<\/p>\n<p>Peyote (psychoactive alkaloid cacti)<\/p>\n<p>Valerian (a garden herb plant)<\/p>\n<p>Yohimbine (a veterinary tree often used to deal with erectile dysfunction)<\/p>\n<p>Even of frogs, fishes, and mushrooms:<\/p>\n<p>Psychoactive toad (psychedelic frogs do not turn into princes)<\/p>\n<p>Hallucinogenic fish (herbivorous ones known in Hawaii may be in Saipan reefs)<\/p>\n<p>Amanita (SE Asian mushroom variety is used for food coloring)<\/p>\n<p>Not to be outdone, the lab versions abound as well.\u00a0 The countertop variety, prescribed or OTC\u2019d if you have a pharmacist\u2019s friend, are:<\/p>\n<p>Amphetamine (stimulant known among ADHDs, also used as a performance stimulant; Benzedrine inhalers, anyone?)<\/p>\n<p>Methamphetamine (the powder that even cops gets busted for)<\/p>\n<p>Body metabolism has drastically changed as the world is overwhelmed by reliance on pharmacological remedies.
