Which as per the Renaissance manual, “We use the 40th percentile as the default benchmark, because research experts, along with many states consider it a mean “working at grade level” or “proficient.”

The school said as a turnaround school it has met or surpassed many of the goals it set several years ago. In addition, KagES also implemented the second step curriculum school-wide, which is a pro-social curriculum, that contributed to an all-time low (along with teacher professionalism and the PSS progressive discipline plan [4 R’s]) in office referrals for the last six years.

Out of close to 400 students, KagES had a maximum of 32 students (8 percent) referred to the office for the School Year 2014-2015. Research has proven a direct correlation to student learning and minimal disruption caused by office referrals and has proven true at our school.

“So thank you parents, staff, and students in contributing to a successful school year.
