(Mark Rabago)\" width=\"100\" height=\"92\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 CNMI 1&#8217;s Liamwar Rangamar and Tinian&#8217;s Darius Pettis led the All Tournament team of the 2012 U17 Micronesian Basketball Tournament that concluded Saturday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>Rangamar headed the girls all tourney team, which also included her teammates Jamie Mendoza and Rachel Abrams and Guam&#8217;s Destiny Castro and Kali Benavente.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran of the CNMI women&#8217;s national basketball team that won the gold medal in the 2006 Micronesian Games received 11 votes from coaches of participating teams.<\/p>\n<p>Benavente was the second-highest vote-getter with 7, followed by Castro (6), Abrams (6), and Mendoza (5).<\/p>\n<p>For the record, Rangamar scored 56 points in four games during the weeklong competition, capped by her 22-point explosion in CNMI 1&#8217;s 56-70 loss in the finals against Guam. She wound up averaging 14 points per game.<\/p>\n<p>Benevente, meanwhile, normed 18 points per game after totaling 90 markers in the tourney. Castro had 51 points in three games to finish with a 17 points per game average, while Mendoza and Abrams averages 11.6 and 8 points per game, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys side, Pettis led the boys tourney team that also included Guam&#8217;s Sammy Setik, Palau&#8217;s Marvic Ngchar, CNMI 1&#8217;s Jack Aranda, and CNMI 2&#8217;s Karlo De Leon.<\/p>\n<p>The Tinian hotshot had the most votes from the coaches with 12, followed by Ngchar (10), Setik (8), Aranda (7), and De Leon (6).<\/p>\n<p>Pettis led all scorers with 19 points per game after pouring in a total of 152 points in the tourney. Ngchar, who almost single-handedly beat CNMI 1 in the semis, finished with 136 points to norm 17 a game.<\/p>\n<p>Setik powered Guam to an undefeated record en route to the championship after scoring 106 points and finished with a 13.25 points per game average. Aranda scored points aplenty despite playing point for CNMI 1. He ended up with 125 points for a 15.6 average.<\/p>\n<p>De Leon, meanwhile, showed he is one of the Commonwealth&#8217;s up-and-coming cagers after norming 11.3 points for CNMI 2.
