Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses will soon hold their annual convention at the Marianas High School Gym. They extend an open invitation for all to attend. The theme of this year\u2019s program is \u201cImitate Jesus!\u201d<\/p>\n
Mark L. Hollingshead, a convention spokesman, states: \u201cJesus, the founder of Christianity, is widely considered as one of the most influential and significant men who ever lived. As Christians, a core belief of Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses is that Jesus lived his life as a model for us to follow. The \u201cImitate Jesus!\u201d convention will examine Jesus\u2019 life, as outlined in the Bible, and emphasize how all\u2014regardless of their background, lifestyle, or religion\u2014can benefit in practical ways from his example and teachings. A highlight of the program will be the keynote address on Friday morning, entitled \u201cConcealed in Him Are All the Treasures of Wisdom.\u201d<\/p>\n
Starting this weekend, and continuing for the next three weeks, Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses will extend personal invitations to everyone from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota to attend the convention. Locally, here on Saipan both of the two congregations of Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses will help distribute printed invitations to the convention. There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations.<\/p>\n
This three-day event to be held in Saipan will begin on July 24, at 9:20am. An estimated 400 will come to Saipan for the Bible-based programs. Locally the entire program will be presented in English and ASL or American Sign Language. Additionally on Sunday the program will be given in Chinese. Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses in Micronesia are organizing 12 conventions\u2014in 10 languages\u2014on 9 different islands.
