As Tropical Storm Chan-Hom passed through the CNMI, there were no power outages on Rota and only brief outages in Garapan, CUC acting executive director John Riegel told Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n
Riegel said the CNMI did well during the storm.<\/p>\n
As for the outages, Riegel said they came back within an hour.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the CNMI ports have since reopened after they were closed for hazardous conditions due to the storm.<\/p>\n
Commonwealth Ports Authority executive director Maryann Lizama confirmed this yesterday.<\/p>\n
U.S. Coast Guard Captain J.B. Pruett reset the port condition and opened all commercial and cargo operations on Sunday at 2pm.<\/p>\n
An all-clear condition for Rota was given yesterday morning as Tropical Storm Chan-Hom has moved away from the CNMI after its erratic movements during the weekend.<\/p>\n
All warnings and conditions were lowered for Saipan and Tinian as early as Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Chan-Hom was expected to turn toward the northwest and head away from the CNMI.<\/p>\n
