Members of the Marianas Young Professionals had a chance to meet Hawaiian singer Anuhea at Kanoa Resort\u2019s Nami Bar last Friday.<\/p>\n

Marianas Young Professionals members met with Hawaiian musician Anuhea at the Kanoa Resort last Friday. Through the meeting, members were able to know how it was like to be a young professional chasing a dream in the music industry. (Frauleine S. Villanueva)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hosted by MYPros and Steven Brownstein Entertainment, the young professionals group gave Anuhea her first taste of Saipan\u2019s island hospitality.<\/p>\n

Anuhea, her family, and her band members arrived on the island early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love the island vibe of this place,\u201d Anuhea said, \u201cWe\u2019re happy to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be here right now finally is awesome,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Because of the meet and greet, MYPros members got a chance to get to know Anuhea on a more personal level.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to do a nice meet and greet because she is a young professional. We thought it will be great to get a real professional who\u2019s out there, chasing her dreams, and making her dreams happen. We thought it will be great for our young professionals to meet her in person,\u201d MYPros vice president Nola Hix said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI support MYPros entirely,\u201d Steven Brownstein said.<\/p>\n

For one, Anuhea shared her humble beginnings in her music career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had always loved music. Even if I am a musician, I never had any formal training ever,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Anuhea said she taught herself to play the guitar and play her favorite songs when she was in high school. Then when social media came along, that\u2019s where she got discovered.<\/p>\n

Asked what inspires her, Anuhea said it\u2019s everything around her.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world around me, being in love, going through breakups, having a baby now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just think that what you love and what you listen to and what you\u2019re more familiar with is going to be the kind of music that you make,\u201d Anuhea added.<\/p>\n

One MYPros member asked how she balances time with her family and with her career especially with her current tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just make it work,\u201d Anuhea said, \u201cjust make the best of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anuhea added that those who wanted to start in the music industry should work hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything is not ever handed to you in this industry, as some people may think. You have to work really hard,\u201d Anuhea said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo anyone else who\u2019s starting in music, to just finding the funding to record your album is probably the hardest part but once you get through that, it\u2019s so much fun and so rewarding, I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll be addicted to continuing to release after that hustle and struggle, it\u2019s fun,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
