Villanueva)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nClub president Curtis Dancoe presented the award to Whitt, who is a partner of Ernst &#038; Young and is now based in Guam.<\/p>\n<p>The club also recognized Whitt\u2019s wife, \u201cRotary Ann\u201d Debra, for her contributions, especially when her husband was still a Rotary officer.<\/p>\n<p>Debra Whitt was the person behind Rotary\u2019s project \u201cParade of Books.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday\u2019s presentation was done by two-time Paul Harris awardee David Igitol and foundation director Ben Babauta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow Parade of Books is still on, they only changed the name to include the high school,\u201d Igitol said.<\/p>\n<p>Whitt also recognized this contribution of his wife during his term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was president \u201805 to \u201806, I believe the theme at the time had to do with literacy. I give my beautiful wife Debbie ultimate credit due to her for the ingenious idea of having young kids in our schools, Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, to read a book and then portray what they had read in the form of costume and parade,\u201d Whitt said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great success and I\u2019m very happy that it has continued throughout the years,\u201d he added.
