{"id":206770,"date":"2015-07-22T15:52:17","date_gmt":"2015-07-22T05:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=206770"},"modified":"2015-07-22T15:52:17","modified_gmt":"2015-07-22T05:52:17","slug":"govt-paychecks-released-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/govt-paychecks-released-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt paychecks released today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Secretary Larissa Larson issued a memorandum yesterday to advise government employees that payroll checks will be released today\u2014a day earlier than the usual schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance chief stated in the memo that the \u201cdisruption of technology has had a significant impact on the processing of direct deposits to all our CNMI government employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we have implemented contingency plans to ensure payroll for today is on time. As part of our contingency plans, we printed payroll checks last Friday and printed supplemental checks on Monday,\u201d Larson, in the memo, said.<\/p>\n<p>She also expressed appreciation to the Bank of Guam and other partner banks for their assistance during the past few days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI expect normal operations for direct deposits by next payday,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>On July 14, Larson suspended direct deposits of payroll checks as a communications outage continues to affect the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil the technology issues are resolved by IT&#038;E, all direct deposits of payroll checks will be suspended.
