For the first time, Club C will be hosting a live showing of Ultimate Fighting Championship on Sunday, Aug. 2.<\/p>\n
The mixed martial arts event, UFC 190, will see the Women\u2019s Bantamweight Championship\u00a0bout between current champion\u00a0Ronda Rousey and top contender Bethe Correia.<\/p>\n
According to Club C director Juan \u2018Pan\u2019 Guerrero, the Sunday showing will be the \u201cfirst of many\u201d hosting of UFC fights.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be ongoing for the next couple of months,\u201d Guerrero said. \u201cWe are the only commercial establishment on Saipan that is currently licensed to show live UFC fights.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rousey, who hails from Riverside, California, will be defending her title for the sixth time since coming to the UFC.<\/p>\n
After campaigning for a title shot against Rousey, Correa, who is from Brazil, will now have a chance to take it.<\/p>\n
Both women fighters hold undefeated records. The actual fight will be held at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.<\/p>\n
Guerrero said it only makes sense to offer this kind of entertainment as they have the facility and \u201cthe biggest screen on Saipan.\u201d<\/p>\n
The viewing is free of charge but customers are encouraged to take advantage of Club C\u2019s six selections of beers that will be offered at $12 a bucket with a free plate of appetizer. It will also come with a free lanyard and a chance to win raffle prizes.<\/p>\n
