{"id":207219,"date":"2015-07-14T14:57:40","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T04:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=207219"},"modified":"2015-07-14T14:57:40","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T04:57:40","slug":"3-more-host-families-sought-for-homestay-program-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/3-more-host-families-sought-for-homestay-program-2\/","title":{"rendered":"3 more host families sought for homestay program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office is looking for three more host families for students coming from Japan this July 28.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office executive assistant Yuki Kishimoto said they will be conducting outdoor activities for the Kokusai Seishonen Kenshu Kyokai group during their visit to Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe already have two host families but we need three more\u2014two for the students and one for the chaperone,\u201d Kishimoto said.<\/p>\n<p>Tokyo\u2019s International Youth Association of Japan KSKK will deploy nine students\u2014six boys and three girls\u2014escorted by a chaperone.<\/p>\n<p>KSKK\u2019s website shows that 90 percent of their students traveling overseas for homestay programs are either first-time travelers or can hardly speak English.<\/p>\n<p>The KSKK was founded in 1973 and has contributed to the promotion of friendly exchanges between countries.<\/p>\n<p>KSKK will host a trip for CNMI students interested in homestaying in Japan from Nov. 12 to 17, and KSKK students will arrive once again for homestay on Saipan on Dec. 24 to 30.<\/p>\n<p>There will be other schools from Japan visiting the CNMI and will also need homestay accommodations.<\/p>\n<p>Sanpoen students will be here on Aug. 5 to 11. Kishimoto said there will be 20 students\u2014six boys and 14 girls. The age group for the students will be from 11 to 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will only need host families on the weekends.
