Half of the shelter’s roof is now gone and debris is everywhere.

“We have 23 dogs currently living in small ‘transport cages,’ which are not fit for them to live in. For the next two weeks from Sunday, Aug. 9 to 23, I will personally pay the $30 registration fee for anyone who is looking to adopt a puppy or dog and give them a good, loving home. Simply message me directly,” Hudy said.

Hudy said those interested in adopting can message him through their Facebook fan page, Saipan Cares for Animals, and set up the time and visit.

“I’ll pay the registration fee, so the dog will be completely free to you if you can give him or her a great life,” he said.

The group has also started a GoFundMe page (http://www.gofundme.com/3u3u8gubes) to raise the money needed to rebuild the Saipan animal shelter. The page has so far raised more than $4,000 from more than 30 donors within six days.

Hudy said that Humane Society International is willing to help the group.

“Things are still moving slow here but we do have help flying into Saipan in the next three to four days, so we will just try to hold on at the shelter until reinforcements arrive but this money will help as we set to hire cleaning crews to help us clean and contractors to help us rebuild,” he said.

[4
6461,1752,5055,6333
post-207641","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-dogs","tag-humane-society-international","tag-jason-hudy","tag-typhoon-soudelor
["GET
