David<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>The Office of the Governor, through its Capital Improvement Program Office, has extended the deadline for the request for proposal for the healthcare system analysis to be conducted on the Commonwealth Health Center.<\/p>\n<p>The original submission date of June 1 has been moved to June 4. \u201cAll other elements of the RFP remain as originally provided,\u201d stated a paid advertisement that appeared in yesterday&#8217;s Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>RFP12-GOV-077, which was first published last month, seeks to solicit services from qualified firms to provide a review of the current healthcare system of the CNMI in comparison to \u201cidentified\u201d standards and developing a plan to correct any uncovered deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>Press secretary Angel Demapan and governor&#8217;s legal counsel James Stump separately confirmed the deadline extension yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sole purpose of the extension for [the] date of submission is to accommodate the austerity Friday,\u201d Stump said via email. \u201cThis will not have any effect whatsoever on the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stump refused to comment further on the submissions, saying that it would be \u201cinappropriate\u201d to do so since the procurement process is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>With the deadline extension, Demapan said the Division of Procurement &amp; Supply can receive sealed and marked copies of the proposals until 4:30pm on June 4.<\/p>\n<p>Critical element to be addressed in the analysis is \u201cthe balancing of services and associated revenues.\u201d The firm with the proposal \u201cmost advantageous\u201d to the CNMI government will be awarded the contract.<\/p>\n<p>Demapan said the composition of the committee that will review submitted proposals \u201cis being finalized.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Clarissa V.
