Improper wiring reportedly triggered a fire in an office at Pretty Market in Garapan on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
No one was injured or received medical treatment during the fire, according to Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Derek Gersonde on Monday.<\/p>\n
A visit by Saipan Tribune yesterday afternoon showed that it\u2019s business as usual at the store.<\/p>\n
The store held a clearance sale last month.<\/p>\n
Gersonde said DFEMS received a call from 911 dispatch about a structure fire at the Pretty Market at 7:51am.<\/p>\n
Gersonde said firefighters from the Garapan Station, San Roque Station, Koblerville Station, and members of the Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives Unit from the Susupe Station immediately responded and extinguished the fire by 8:10am.<\/p>\n
Arson investigators determined that the fire was caused by an overloaded circuit breaker.<\/p>\n
The fire started in the main office from the air-conditioning unit and spread to nearby combustible materials within the office.<\/p>\n
