The airline is also purchasing emergency medical kits with medicines and supplies for 10,000 Saipan residents for up to 90 days, which with the Ayuda Foundation will distribute at the Commonwealth Health Center of Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>United has started an online fundraiser for Saipan relief via Crowdrise at www.crowdrise.com\/unitedtyphoonsoudelorrelief. The campaign is open to the public and all MileagePlus members. MileagePlus members who donate a minimum of $50 will receive a one-time mileage bonus of 250 miles and can receive up to a maximum of 1,000 miles as follows. United is ready to offer up to a total of 1,000,000 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Monetary donation\tOne-time mileage bonus<br \/>\n$50 \u2013 99\t        250 miles<br \/>\n$100 &#8211; 249\t        500 miles<br \/>\n$250 or more\t        1,000 miles<\/p>\n<p>Sam Shinohara, United\u2019s managing director Guam, Micronesia and Manila, said: \u201cUnited is proud to continue our partnership with Ayuda Foundation in our efforts to assist the people of Saipan as they recover from the devastation of Typhoon Soudelor. We thank all of our employees and customers for their compassion and support for the recovery efforts in Saipan.\u201d<br \/>\nCarlotta Leon-Guerrero, Ayuda Foundation\u2019s executive director, said: \u201cAyuda Foundation has partnered with United Airlines for nearly 20 years throughout Micronesia. Ayuda Foundation, through its partnership with United and its customers, has helped to transport more than 1,000 patients from Guam to other destinations for medical treatment.\u00a0 Ayuda Foundation\u2019s mission is to deliver medical, human services and developmental assistance throughout the Pacific region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Extra flights assist recovery efforts<\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing Typhoon Soudelor, United immediately started operating extra flights between Guam and Saipan with Boeing 737-800 aircraft to enable affected Cape Air passengers to complete their travel to and from Saipan and to accommodate customers involved in disaster recovery efforts.
