{"id":208101,"date":"2015-08-17T06:00:51","date_gmt":"2015-08-16T20:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=208101"},"modified":"2015-08-17T06:00:51","modified_gmt":"2015-08-16T20:00:51","slug":"cuc-water-service-filling-stations-resume-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cuc-water-service-filling-stations-resume-today\/","title":{"rendered":"CUC water service, filling stations resume today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The limited water service schedule issued in the wake of Typhoon Soudelor was disrupted by the approach of Tropical Storm Goni; however, the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has already resumed water distribution to some of Saipan\u2019s villages.<\/p>\n<p>Generators provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency were disconnected from CUC\u2019s pumps and wells in advance of the storm; however, FEMA\u2019s contractor continues to reactivate and refuel the generators to restore limited water service to Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>CUC personnel released water to customers in the vicinity of the Navy Hill reservoir Sunday afternoon, and Water personnel continued the expansion of multi-village limited water service despite winds and rain brought by Goni\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n<p>While limited water service to many villages will resume today, it will be done based on the order in which FEMA\u2019s contractor reactivates the generators. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, CUC will resume the previously announced service rotation this morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the interest of safety for CUC\u2019s men and women in the field, the CUC water filling stations were closed yesterday. The stations will reopen today, Aug. 17, for daily service between the hours of 12pm and 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>Water filling stations are located in As Teo, Kannat Tabla, Capital Hill, and Navy Hill. Filling stations in Kagman and As Matuis were closed on Saturday, Aug. 15, due to logistical issues related to the approaching storm.
