{"id":208307,"date":"2015-08-18T06:06:09","date_gmt":"2015-08-17T20:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=208307"},"modified":"2015-08-18T06:06:09","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T20:06:09","slug":"goni-spares-rota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/goni-spares-rota\/","title":{"rendered":"Goni spares Rota"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rota only had to deal with a power outage, broken tree branches, and some scattered debris on the roads when Tropical Storm Goni passed between the island and Tinian Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig said the island is back to normal operations as of yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Acting press secretary Matt Deleon Guerrero earlier told Saipan Tribune that the island experienced power outages starting at 6pm Sunday and that it was being resolved.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig said that Feeders 1 and 2 had problems, causing temporary outages and minor problems with power distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is now fixed and we\u2019re back to normal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Rota got the brunt of winds that were as strong as 60 mph while making its closest approach north of the island but Atalig said there weren\u2019t any damage to houses and other island infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot much damage except the debris on the highway. We did clearing and we\u2019re done it already,\u201d Atalig said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Emergency Operation Center and the Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office\u2019s emergency plans were activated when Gov. Eloy S.
