{"id":209516,"date":"2015-09-01T06:00:20","date_gmt":"2015-08-31T20:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=209516"},"modified":"2015-09-01T06:00:20","modified_gmt":"2015-08-31T20:00:20","slug":"cuc-to-expand-water-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cuc-to-expand-water-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"CUC to expand water hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Acting Commonwealth Utilities Corp. executive director John Riegel says they will be announcing today extended water service hours in the island\u2019s villages.<\/p>\n<p>Riegel said once the hours are figured out they will be announced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are expanding our water hours. We have water in all villages,\u201d with some spots in outlying areas without water, Riegel said.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe were hunting for those [spots] today and will continue tomorrow,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>CUC has 145 wells. Only 56\u2014or a third of them\u2014were running as of last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been working with CUC on energizing water pumps, installing generators strategically across island.<\/p>\n<p>Meantime, CUC continues to work on the island feeders and are awaiting the arrival of more power poles and materials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing to run the feeders out,\u201d Riegel said.<\/p>\n<p>The number of feeders energized remains the same as last week.
