(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The village of Tanapag and the Salvation Army received helping hands last week with contributions of personnel, heavy equipment, and food from hotels and their community partners.<\/p>\n<p>Typhoon debris in Tanapag was collected from households and roadsides on Friday, Aug. 28, and Saturday, Aug. 29, by volunteers from Mariana Resort &#038; Spa, Talabwoog Stars, Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, and the elected leadership of Precinct 4. Mariana Resort also detailed its bulldozer and dump truck toward the effort, which compiled the debris in a centralized location in the village for easy removal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMINA is happy to be a part of the community cleanup. After Typhoon Soudelor, we spent several days cleaning up at Tanapag Beach Park and Tanapag Middle School, but there was still much to be done around the village,\u201d said MINA interim executive director Brooke Nevitt. \u201cThrough the hard work and commitment of all involved, Tanapag is a cleaner, healthier, and safer community for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following Saturday\u2019s cleanup, volunteers from Talabwoog Stars and staff from Mariana Resort barbecued food donated by Mariana Resort and served 1,000 meals at Tanapag beach for village residents and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>The Salvation Army, which continues to serve hot meals in San Antonio to the needy, was aided on Wednesday, Aug. 26, by Fiesta Resort &#038; Spa Saipan.
