Just fresh out of Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja Summer Camp 2015, the students are back in school and it\u2019s that time to welcome the ESFDB administration, faculty, staff, and student population back for the 2015-2016 school year! With the new school year comes new beginnings and new expectations at ESFDB.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are looking forward to another great school year. I hope the students enjoyed some family time this summer,\u201d said administrator\/principal Carmen H. Atalig. \u201cOur teachers and staff have been spending time preparing for the new school year as they welcome new and returning students to their classrooms.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cESFDB provides an individualized approach to education that helps students thrive and create meaningful academic, faith formation, and extracurricular experiences, and we can\u2019t wait to see what this year holds for our Catholic community school,\u201d added Atalig.<\/p>\n
Also, the ESFDB Child Development Center was renovated to accommodate the increased enrollment of the pre-school students, said Atalig, who is also the Kindergarten adviser.<\/p>\n
This school year, ESFDB\u2019s dedicated, professional, and veteran administrative\/faculty team is led by Atalig, who brings 20-plus years of experience in the Public School System classroom and management that has been invaluable to ESFDB.<\/p>\n
The pre-school program is headed by Lea D. Maratita and assisted by Monette Ladao. Maratita is also the school\u2019s Business Office manager.<\/p>\n
Florinda M. Chavez, adviser for the 1st and 2nd grade, is the most seasoned faculty in the ESFDB team. She had been around when the school was established and served under four administrators.<\/p>\n
Mary Rose Lucero, adviser for the 3rd and 4th grade is another seasoned faculty. Like Chavez, Lucero served under the school\u2019s past four administrators.<\/p>\n
Rounding out the team is ESFDB board chair and 5th to 8th grade adviser Edward Maratita Jr.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor more than 20 years, the school had been educating the children of a close diverse community, contributing to successful and wonderful memories in the process,\u201d said Maratita. \u201cWe thank each of the families that send their children to a Catholic education and to the families who contributed and supported the school one way or the other. They haven\u2019t just captured our hearts, they captured the spirit of San Francisco de Borja as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
The administration, faculty, staff, and students started school on Aug. 19 and had their Holy Spirit Mass to kick off the new school year on Aug. 23. The Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Rey Rosal.
