The scheduled Labor Day Softball Tournament will be rescheduled after further notice, according to organizer Froilan Camacho Jr.<\/p>\n
Camacho, a baseball manager and coach of the Jets in the Saipan Little League and the Saipan Baseball League, did not give details of the cancelation.<\/p>\n
Saipan still recovering from the destruction brought by Typhoon Soudelor could be the main reason.<\/p>\n
The weekend tournament was scheduled from Sept. 4 to 6 at the Capital Hill softball field.<\/p>\n
Camacho made an early announcement in May and July to give interested teams ample time to prepare their respective rosters. Registration fee is $150.<\/p>\n
Fourteen slots in the men\u2019s and six in the women\u2019s side were allotted for the teams.<\/p>\n
The three-day tournament, once it pushes through, will follow a double-elimination round format where official rules of International Softball Federation will be followed.<\/p>\n
Trophy, cash, and other special prizes await the winning team.<\/p>\n
