{"id":210127,"date":"2015-09-10T06:06:01","date_gmt":"2015-09-09T20:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=210127"},"modified":"2015-09-10T06:06:01","modified_gmt":"2015-09-09T20:06:01","slug":"chamber-and-fema-host-business-recovery-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chamber-and-fema-host-business-recovery-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"Chamber and FEMA host Business Recovery Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, hosted a Business Recovery Fair at Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan\u2019s Hibiscus Hall yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The event sought to provide information to the business sector on the opportunities available to them to be able to recover from the damage brought by Typhoon Soudelor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFEMA came and asked us if we would host it,\u201d Chamber executive director Jill Arenovski said. \u201dTan Holdings was willing to sponsor the venue to make it easy for us. Villanueva)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Government agencies as well as private sector entities were present to offer information and solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Among them were FEMA\u2019s Office of External Affairs\u2019 private sector liaison Susan Langhoff and the U.S. Small Business Administration\u2019s public information officer, William Koontz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way we help our business owners that have been impacted by a disaster is to share information with them about recovery\u2014different avenues of recovery\u2014the primary being business owners\u2019 recovery options through SBA,\u201d Langhoff said.<\/p>\n<p>Koontz reminded businesses that not only those who suffered physical damage can be eligible for disaster loans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SBA can loan them money not just to pay for their damaged business, damaged equipment,\u201d Koontz said. \u201cWe can also loan them the lost income that they\u2019re suffering. That might go on for several months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the U.S Department of Agriculture were also present.
