{"id":210246,"date":"2015-09-11T06:06:17","date_gmt":"2015-09-10T20:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=210246"},"modified":"2015-09-11T06:06:17","modified_gmt":"2015-09-10T20:06:17","slug":"mtec-readies-for-school-outreach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mtec-readies-for-school-outreach\/","title":{"rendered":"MTEC readies for school outreach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Marianas Tourism Education Council will begin its annual fall outreach next month, taking its message of the importance of tourism to hundreds of students at public elementary schools, with plans to continue outreach to junior and senior high schools in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe MTEC education outreach will focus on the contribution of tourism to the islands\u2019 economic wellbeing,\u201d said MTEC chair Vicky Benavente. \u201cThe challenge we now face is, in what way do we present this information to the students, many of whom may not have electricity or potable water in their homes due to the impact of Typhoon Soudelor.
