Sablan has pleaded not guilty to allegations that he stole mail packages that contained two iPads and two iPhones.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan, through counsel, waived the formal advisement of his constitutional rights and the reading of the charges against him.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI designated Judge David O. Carter set the jury trial for Nov. 2, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant U.S. attorney Ross Naughton appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>The information charged Sablan with two counts of unauthorized mail opening and one count of misuse of postal property.<\/p>\n<p>Naughton filed the information after asking the court to dismiss the indictment filed against Sablan in April over the same incidents.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment charged Sablan with mail theft and two counts of obstruction of mail.<\/p>\n<p>According to the information, on Nov. 19, 2012, Sablan opened a package that was not directed to him. The package contained two iPads.<\/p>\n<p>On April 28, 2013, Sablan opened a package that was addressed to a certain postal box. The package contained two iPhones.
