This year, it has so far given out 77 backpacks with school supplies.

“Every year we identify many needy kids and try to help them with our Back-to-School Project,” said Marianas Office directing attorney Jane Mack. “This year, everyone is needy because of the destruction of Typhoon Soudelor.”

While the project cannot reach everyone, MLSC and its partners are doing their part in the ongoing effort to address needs in the community.

The MLSC project provides an avenue for members of the legal community and others to provide school assistance. Donors give both in-kind donations and cash support, which provides the flexibility to build each backpack with a set of standard supplies.

This year’s donors included Mack, Thomas Clifford, Jim Cook, Kay Delafield, FHP Pharmacy, Kate Fuller, Christopher Heeb and Kyung Park, Brad Huesman and Deb Fisher, Juan T.
