{"id":211162,"date":"2015-09-25T06:00:55","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=211162"},"modified":"2015-09-25T06:00:55","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:00:55","slug":"tinian-pagan-eis-comments-needed-by-sept-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tinian-pagan-eis-comments-needed-by-sept-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian, Pagan EIS comments needed by Sept. 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The military\u2019s post-typhoon efforts that helped both the CNMI and Department of Defense training are the kind of mutual assistance that\u2019s appreciated, welcomed, and supported.\u00a0 The destructive practices planned on Tinian and Pagan are not.\u00a0 Overwhelming opposition to the DOD ESI was voiced on petitions and public hearings,\u00a0 However, the CNMI\u2019s inability to unite and specifically address gaps and negotiate agreeable terms is giving DOD what they want without having to precisely define it.\u00a0For that reason, additional written comments on what the EIS does not address need to be submitted within the next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Because the significance, magnitude, and numerous long-term consequences of DOD\u2019s plans, specific comments are needed by as many as possible.\u00a0 Explanations of what to write and how to submit them are in Friday\u2019s Saipan Tribune and added here:<\/p>\n<p>1.
