Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Armatech\u2019s shooters made it easier for the team to beat Erika\u2019s Catering\/Ferrera Builders, as gunners James Abuy, Martin Moreno, and Manny Duenas combined for more than half of the squad\u2019s total output. Abuy fired 18 points, including back-to-back triples in the fourth quarter to finish off their foes, while Moreno and Duenas chipped in 17 and 11, respectively. Team captain Bong Malasarte was the fourth Armatech player to hit double figures, as he matched Duenas\u2019 production and held his ground against Erika\u2019s Catering\/Ferrera Builders front liners.<\/p>\n<p>Erika\u2019s Catering\/Ferrera Builders absorbed a beating at the hands of Armatech after a so-so game in the second quarter. Erika\u2019s Catering\/Ferrera Builders was behind by only 8 at the end of the first period, 13-21, but scored only 6 markers in the second canto, allowing Armatech to pull away at the break, 37-19.<\/p>\n<p>The debuting Armatech never looked back from thereon, as Abuy and Moreno alternately led the team\u2019s offense in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Melvin Villarin had 17 points in a losing cause for Erika\u2019s Catering\/Ferrera Builders, which drew 13 markers from Joseph Gatdula.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, two other teams also had their first game in the U18 division with GMI Market nailing an 86-77 victory over JWS Drive.<\/p>\n<p>JWS Drive led at the end of the first three periods but GMI Market had the last say after mounting a comeback in the fourth frame.<\/p>\n<p>Lefty shooter Jethro Cruz anchored GMI Market\u2019s rally in the fourth, as he knocked in 12 of his game-high 28 points in the payoff canto. GMI Market was behind by 4, 56-60, before Cruz took over in the fourth and gave his team the victory.
