Masters earned the right to face defending titlists Brotherhood in the best-of-three title duel, which is a rematch of last year’s finals.

Pennant champions Brotherhood swept Mommy Charu in their own playoffs showdown last week to clinch the first finals berth.

Brotherhood breezed through with a 12-2 win in Game 1 then closed out the series with a 9-1 triumph.

The Masters and IP&E, meanwhile, split the first two games of their own best-of-three semifinals series.

IP&E defeated the Masters, 9-4, in the opener but the latter bounced back with a 14-10 decision to force a deciding game.

The S.A. Masters, in yesterday’s rubber match, slowly chipped away IP&E’s 10-run lead to complete the win.

IP&E scored 10 runs in the first inning but were shut out for most of the way, while the Masters little by little overhauled that deficit.

John Cepeda’s first home run of the season in the fifth inning and Jeff Cabrera’s first-inning grandslam highlighted the Masters’ victory.

IP&E had five more runs in the final inning but the Masters held on to seal the finals date with Brotherhood on Sunday, Oct. 18, also at the Dandan field. Game 1 is set at 11am while the next match will be played after a 30-minute break.

Cepeda, Masters manager Luis Cepeda, team captain Dennis Ngeskebei and the entire team are hoping for a different outcome this time after losing to Brotherhood last year.

Reno Celis, Jeff Sablan, Jess Cabrera, Ike Cabrera, Jude Dickinson, Ton Tomokane, Rep. Ralph Yumul (Ind.-Saipan) are the other members of the Masters.

The San Antonio Masters scored a come-from-behind 18-15 win over IP&E in their do-or-die match…

[5
7374,7505,7506,7258
post-212180","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-belau-men","tag-dandan-ballfield","tag-san-antonio-masters","tag-slow-pitch-softball-league
["GET
