(Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Girls All-Stars have been holding various fundraising activities to come up with the money that would cover the costs for them to compete in the Under-19 Girls High School Volleyball Championships set from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 in Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Carwash tickets will be available from the nine players and the two coaches who would accompany them on the Guam trip. Tickets cost $5 each for advanced purchase and $10 for drive-in.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association president Laurie Peterka said the CNMI girls U19 team still needs to raise another $1,200.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can support them by buying carwash tickets, which will go on sale near the end of this week,\u201d Peterka added.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, NMIVA held a fundraising event from 10am to 4pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan beachside where various activities like a 4-person co-ed beach volleyball tournament and serving rally where held.<\/p>\n<p>Peterka said last Sunday\u2019s event were two-fold where they hope to raise $1,000 from various events involving the general public and $1,800 from the serving rally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CNMI All-Stars needed a total of plus or minus $7,000 for the Guam trip. Some money was already raised earlier this year.
