(Contributed Photo)<br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The contest was part of Rota\u2019s annual fiesta of San Francisco de Borja, the island\u2019s patron saint.<\/p>\n<p>The school is happy to announce that 8th grade student Angelo S. Lucero won first place in the Bisita Luta Essay Contest under the 6th to 8th Grade Category.<\/p>\n<p>In the Bisita Luta Poster Contest, 4th grade student \u00c9clair M. Ladao won first place while classmate Brylle P. Reyel won third place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank all of the students that participated and congratulations to our winners.  I would also like to thank the sponsors of the event and all of the teachers\u2019 continued support in helping to educate about the Bisita Luta theme,\u201d said administrator\/principal Carmen H. Atalig.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo win is just incredible. We participated to show our support, especially to our patron saint, San Francisco de Borja, and also for our class grade.  Winning was the last thing in our minds,\u201d said Lucero.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel proud of myself because drawing something to promote Rota and the island\u2019s patron saint, San Francisco de Borja, was worth it,\u201d said Ladao.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled that I won but most of all it\u2019s about showing our support to our Rota patron saint, San Francisco de Borja,\u201d said Reyel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough their essays and artwork, these students captured the rich history and vital importance of the island\u2019s patron saint, San Francisco de Borja, and the theme of Bisita Luta,\u201d board chair Edward Maratita, Jr. said. \u201cIt\u2019s great to see students having fun while celebrating Luta\u2019s annual fiesta.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students from public and private schools on Rota participated in both contests.
