A man allegedly swung a machete at the former boyfriend of his mother who came to their house in Chalan Kanoa to get his bicycle on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Ethen D. Sanchez, 18, also allegedly cut the tires of the bicycle after his mother\u2019s former boyfriend refused to leave their property.<\/p>\n
Sanchez was taken to Superior Court on Tuesday for assault with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo kept the $10,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for Oct. 22 at 9am. Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed as counsel for Sanchez.<\/p>\n
Police detective Daniel Maliuyaf stated in his report that three police officers responded on Friday to a store in Chalan Kanoa, where the victim called police that his bicycle had been stolen.<\/p>\n
The victim told police that Sanchez swung a machete at him and cut his bicycle\u2019s tires. He then showed the officers the bicycle with cut tires.<\/p>\n
According to the victim, he went to the house of his former girlfriend to get his bicycle. Sanchez, who was at the house, cursed him and told him to leave.<\/p>\n
Sanchez then allegedly took a machete and threatened the victim with it, swinging it about two to three inches from his chest.<\/p>\n
The mother restrained Sanchez and pulled him away. The victim left the place and went to a store where he called police.<\/p>\n
Police said Sanchez admitted to the allegations because his mother\u2019s former boyfriend refused to leave their house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
