(Daisy Demapan)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nThe latest data collected reveals that only 193 residences as well as major hotels have cable TV connection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working on building our own undersea fiber optic cable which will lower the rates for our customers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Docomo is buying bandwidth from IT&amp;E to support their cable services, which operates at a 5-second delay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLive satellite has been reinstated and we have 59 channels total,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He shared that pay-per-view is a future possibility and that the public access channel with live feeds of legislative sessions is still on-going.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho adds that the main reason it\u2019s taking long to repair their cables is that their current system uses specific amplifiers, cables, and transmitters that are no longer in the market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were forced to upgrade which is good for our customers but the downfall is that it\u2019s taking us longer because we are rebuilding our entire infrastructure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Docomo expects to see improvements that match services in Guam with live streaming and television, Internet, and cable bundles.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to comment on hidden or additional fees these improvements may require, Camacho stated, \u201cThey will be assessed based upon bandwidth.
